When tunnels are built in urban areas close to sensitive structures strict requirements in respect of settlement have to be met to minimize and control risks for theses structures. At the same time the tunnelling process has to be optimized economically e.g. by a high propulsion speed of the TBM or minimized material consumption. To achieve both goals a permanent control of all relevant parameters of the tunnelling process in real time is necessary. For this purpose GeTec AC in co-operation with Hochtief Construction AG has developed an information and control system for mechanical tunnelling named Advanced Tunnel Drive Steering or short ATDS®
ATDS® is a system that allows evaluation and visualisation of all relevant parameters of the tunnel building process and settlements in real time. All sensors and their measurement values are shown in a plan view. A mouse click on the sensor discovers detailed information for this sensor. The data is processed for different users in an appropriate manner for each one. The possible views range from a complete overview for the client to a detailed view for the TBM operator.
